The 1960 Jaguar Mark IX sedan is the family saloon with the heart of an E-Type. Beautifully styled and offering a spirited driving experience, this powerful sedan is exactly what you'd expect from England's most accessible luxury marque. This particular bombshell is a former concourse winner that was treated to a comprehensive restoration in 2008, and a recent and very gorgeous paint job that has it looking better than it did in 1960. If you're looking for an impressive trophy hunter and immensely comfortable driver, then your search is over, because this is vintage British motoring at its finest.
Dressed in an elegant two-tone Silver-over-Gray finish, this long, sleek Jag really looks like a million bucks. It has a wonderful, off-the-charts vintage curb appeal that's bright and shiny as can be in person, yet inviting and appropriate for modern times as well. When standing next to this 4-door beauty, one feels underdressed in anything short of a tuxedo. The restoration was so thorough and impressive back then that this car was painstakingly gone through in 2008, winning several prestigious concours-level awards, and although it likely didn't need it, a full and period-perfect respray was recently applied. That's what happens when you own such an important car, it needs to be 'up to snuff' at all times, and it's obvious that the paint and bodywork was of the 'no expense spared' variety. It may not be perfect, simply because nothing in this world really is, but at this price point you'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer car. The curvaceous styling of the Mark IX sedan is unmistakably Jaguar and you can see echoes of the XK150 in the grille and front end, not to mention the curved windows, dramatic rear end, and oversized fender skirts. All four doors fit well and close with a firmness that's hard to quantify and which buyers would pay extra to have on their cars today. There's plenty of bright trim, all of it done with exquisitely good taste, and it shows incredibly well, particularly the waterfall grille up front and all the gorgeous light housings fore and aft. Ornate bumpers were polished to a terrific shine, matching all the elegant brightwork, and the twin tailpipes jutting under rear bumper hint at the performance under the hood.
The Brits are famous for building interiors like nobody else, and this Jaguar is the epitome of British elegance. Soft gray leather hides cover the seats, which are so nice that you'd never guess they carried many passengers, with only minor comfort marks in the front seats present. Wonderfully plush and deep piled carpets suggest luxury and help control noise and all the gorgeous wood you see is actual burled walnut, not some simulation. The big steering wheel has a slender rim and the car can be guided with just your fingertips and the 4-speed automatic transmission is lever controlled on the column. Big, round Smiths gauges remain in excellent shape, including the big speedometer just to the right of the wheel and the matching tachometer all the way near the glove box. All the original ignition, switches, and levers give this Jag that airplane cockpit look British automobile designers have been fond of for decades, and even the original AM radio is remarkably still in place. Burled walnut trays give the rear passengers somewhere to rest their champagne flutes, and the back seat looks very lightly used and is comfortable enough to chauffeur around the Prime Minster (although even in this large space, there may not be enough room for a Boris Johnson party, if you'll allow me to be so cheeky). The boot is spacious enough for overnight bags and includes a mounted spare tire, and in case you haven't guessed already, it too is in great shape.
Under the long hood beats the heart of an E-Type, a 3.8 liter DOHC inline-six that makes silky smooth power rivaled only by an electric motor. The renowned XK series motor was the same that won at LeMans in '51 and '53, and further improvements in reliability and performance of this legendary Straight 6 throughout the years made the price to performance ratio so attractive to the public, that it even developed a reputation for being the getaway car for of choice for many British criminals. The scintillating soundtrack is a big part of the Jag's appeal, designed to be enjoyed not simply quietly driven like big Jags of the past. You can forget the unfair rumors about British electrical systems, as this car starts quickly and easily and drives so well you'll forget that it's over 60 years old. With lots of polished aluminum and a dual HD6 SU carburetors up top, it has a beautifully detailed look under the hood and like many owners, you'll probably discover that keeping it healthy really isn't all that much of a challenge after all. It was all painstakingly restored to original specs at the time of the concours restoration, and the lone deviation from stock that we can find in the drivetrain is actually a great improvement: a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive that transforms this saloon into a genuine grand tourer. The undercarriage is incredibly solid and clean, featuring a suspension that ideally blends handling and ride comfort in a way no other automaker has been able to duplicate, and the Mark IX was the first production car to offer 4-wheel servo-assisted disc brakes and a recirculating ball power steering system. Gorgeous gray wheels adorned with correct chrome hubcaps and beauty rings finish the opulent look, all of which are wrapped in 225/75/16 whitewall radials.
A simply stunning car that's every bit as wonderful to drive. Offered with build receipts and miscellaneous manuals, this beautiful Jag has old world charm with performance that feels far younger. Call today!

We recognize the need for complete transparency when buying/selling vehicles on eBay. That said, we did not build, modify, or have the luxury of personal ownership that would give us the advantage of knowing all unknown aspects of each vehicle. Transparency is king and we're happy to try and answer ALL questions our customers might have prior to purchasing. Additionally, we welcome and encourage independent inspections (see Inspection statement below).
FEES
: A documentation fee of 9 will be added to the purchase price at the time of sale. Sale price does not include any Title, License, Registration, State or Local Taxes or Processing Fees. We recommend you familiarize yourself with your individual state's taxes, transfer, or additional fees.
AVAILABILITY
: Please inquire prior to purchase to assure any advertised vehicle is not already sold. We advertise across multiple platforms where a vehicle can sell in a moment's notice. Vehicles may be sold prior to eBay listing end, and we reserve the right to end listings early or to cancel bids/offers solely at our discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.
CONTACT
: Note that you may hear from us after to the sale, but if you are a winning bidder, click a Buy-It-Now, or we accept your eBay Offer, it is your responsibility to contact us within 24 hours.
INSPECTION
: VERY IMPORTANT. If a buyer chooses to buy sight unseen (many of our buyers choose this option) the buyer accepts the vehicle AS-IS and understands we cannot address concerns post sale. For this reason, it's important all concerns are addressed prior to purchase. We make every effort to present accurate and reliable information, but use of this information is voluntary, and should only be deemed reliable after an independent review of its accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. It is the sole responsibility of the customer/buyer to verify the existence of options, accessories and the vehicle condition before time of sale.

: We have access to a network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway and upon your schedule. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody. Buyers are welcomed to trailer vehicles home and we are happy to have everything ready to see you off with your new vehicle.
DRIVE IT HOME
: If you plan to buy and drive home, please keep some things in mind. Anything is possible when it comes to a vehicle, especially a classic or antique one. We recommend transporting all vehicles to your home first, then driving it locally. Get to know the vehicle and its tendencies before embarking on a long-distance trip. If you choose to drive your new vehicle home, buyer accepts all responsibility as we are unable to control what may take place once it leaves our facility.
DOCUMENTS & VEHICLE TITLE
: All purchase documents are sent immediately upon purchase. To avoid delays, we recommend returning any required documents within 24 hours of receipt. Please allow up to 30 days for vehicle titles. Usually titles are available sooner, we ask for the extra time in the event there are unforeseen circumstances.
VIN VERIFICATION
: We photograph the primary VIN location of every vehicle and make sure that VIN exactly matches the vehicle's current title. Buyer agrees to hold seller harmless from any disputes arising from other hidden or secondary VINs present on the vehicle as seller only verifies the primary VIN location. If needed, it is the buyer's sole responsibility to verify secondary VIN locations their specific state may inspect, prior to purchase.
MILEAGES
: Occasionally our vehicles may be driven or simply moved around our facilities. Slight differences may occur so we recommend you confirm actual and current miles prior to purchase.
CONDITION
: We cover the obvious and do our best to describe our vehicles in detail. Even so, please have a transparent conversation with us before purchasing. Do be aware that all pre-owned vehicles, regardless of age, mileage, or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Finally, be advised that although our sales associates are here to assist you with your purchase, they are not trained or certified vehicle inspectors.
AS-IS
: All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied. If you choose to waive inspection, do plan to have a detailed and transparent conversation with us regarding the vehicle's condition. Ask the hard questions up front. Please just call us, we are here to help and welcome all your questions!
