Here’s another desirable, great-running & driving Mercedes turbodiesel we’ve acquired for our Ebay buyers.
This nice 300D turbodiesel has been in snow-free western Washington State for many years and arrived here to my Seattle area warehouse a short time ago with hopes that “Colonel Mustard” will find his next long-term caretaker.
From the moment I first laid eyes on the old boy, it was obvious the car has been treated with respect and care over the years.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  My name is
    Mark
and my direct phone number is (
    206) 914-1173
.  You’re welcome and encouraged to make an appointment to inspect and drive the
    car
    .
If you follow the vintage Mercedes market, you know it’s becoming difficult to find these W123-bodied Benz in decent condition.
Coming across one that’s been fitted with the attractive, shorter European bumpers, factory style headlamps and a Euro-interior is extremely rare.
To be clear, this is NOT a “gray market” import
(which can be difficult to title in some states).
It will arrive with a clean, free-and-clear Washington State title transferable anywhere.
    VEHICLE DESCRIPTION
Ever driven one of these Mercedes with the powerful 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine?
Where else will you find this kind of luxury, vintage style, safety, mechanical reliability AND terrific (25+MPG) fuel economy wrapped up in one great ride?
Smooth is the word for sure.  Smooth handling in the curves or on the highway.
I’ve always considered the W123 chassis cars constructed through the mid-1980’s as some of the last hand-built, truly high-quality Mercedes and have heard others say the same!
Take a look at my photos and I’m sure you’ll agree what a nice car this truly is.  All were taken on July 27, 2021.
What you see is the result of a wash and vacuum only.
Climb over, under and throughout; I know you’ll come up smiling
    !  Rust?  Please,
this car hates rust and you won’t find serious issues to worry about here.
Having spent its greater life in the Seattle area, there’s never been exposure to road corrosion starters.
Yes, western Washington State is famous for rain, but our
    winter streets
are never salted.  At most we’ll have one or two days of light snow.  Everyone panics and just stays home hunkered down with a blanket and book.
Climb over, under and all around this 300SD - I know you’ll come up smiling!
Having personally owned dozens of Mercedes over the years, I’ve developed a great appreciation for the classic MB style, mechanical reliability and overall driving experience.
THIS CAR RUNS OUT VERY NICELY.
I’VE SPENT THE BETTER PART OF THE LAST WEEK COMMUTING IN IT AND AM CONVINCED YOU’LL BE PROWD TO OWN AND DRIVE IT AS WELL!
    CONDITION:
In total, I this is a clean, smoke-free vehicle.  I take pride in those offered here and feel you should know as much about the car as possible.  Accordingly, here’s a list of the good and also a few small things needing attention: take literally seven or eight seconds to heat the glow plugs when starting cold and the peppy 3.0L inline five diesel engine starts with only few moments of cranking.
    The
    automatic transmission shifts
through all the gears with no slippage. The car idles, runs and drives like a Mercedes is supposed to – strong, immediate
    oil pressure
, strong battery and charging system, no overheating and no brake pull.
The factory light yellow paint has been resprayed to the original color sometime in the past.
    I’d say it’s easily a 9 out of 10.
Though I’m no expert, there’s no evidence of major accident repair and no dings or rock chips in the paint.
The front fenders, rear quarters, doors and floor pans are all very solid; in fact, the entire undercarriage is in fine shape for a thirty-six-year-old vehicle!
There is a spot below the front bumper where the valance is welded that could use cleaning-up in the future.
I’d leave it for now and enjoy the car.
Over the years I’ve never encountered
    Mercedes alloy wheels
that were anything but straight and true.
These fit that bill and are wrapped with older touring radials with about 30% - 50% remaining wear.
Take another good look at my interior pics.  The unique-to-European model
Vinyl-Tex (with fabric insert) seats have held up well with no cracks on either the base or the driver’s backrest bolsters as you’ll typically find on these boulevard cruisers, just a little wear in the driver’s center base as pictured.
The front passenger and rear bench are virtually perfect.
Both the speedometer and odometer work correctly, but I don’t think the miles showing are accurate.
The heater blows warm air when activated.
The A/C system isn’t functional at the moment, though it appears complete under the hood and dash area.
There’s no evidence of any water leakage on the headliner.
The power sunroof held in position using wood shims.
Because European door panels are installed, the driver’s window is manual but the other three are power and all operate smoothly.
You will find NO cigarette smoke odor here.
    The carpets are original.
Nice aftermarket sissel mats cover both front and back.
Like most vintage Benz stereos, the original Becker Grand Prix is long gone, replaced with a finicky aftermarket AM-FM/CD Pioneer model.
About the only other issue to report is a cracked factory windshield, though it’s not in the driver’s line of sight and no leakage observed.
I’m always happy to work with any shipper you choose, but you’re also welcome to do what many of my previous buyers from as far away as Alaska, Arizona, the Midwest, Canada, Florida, New York and even the Mexican Baja have done – fly in here to Seattle (We’ll meet you up at Sea-Tac International just a few miles away) and then start a summer road trip home the same day.
    As a respected
    Ebay seller
with many satisfied online vehicle buyers over 15 years, I want you to bid with confidence knowing this Benz runs and drives AND that it is being properly represented.
Please don’t be upset if I miss a minor flaw or some issue comes up as NO used vehicle is ever perfect.
Please check the photos over closely and call me with any questions BEFORE you place a bid!  You’re encouraged to stop by, look over the car at my Auburn, WA warehouse and take it for a test drive (or higher an inspection service to do it for you).  As always, the vehicle is being sold “as-is, where-is” with a clean, free & clear Washington State title.
Because of the amount of money involved with a vehicle purchase, I reserve the right to cancel your bid if you have any
    negative feedback
    .
I also ask that potential bidders with a feedback rating of five or fewer transactions on
    Ebay
contact me before placing their bid.
Please feel free to contact me directly thru eBay’s system or, as outlined above, call me at
    206/914-1173
    anytime.  My name is
    MARK
    .
A Few Additional Terms and Conditions:
The entire purchase price is due by cash (in-person only), a wire transfer or other certified funds within seven days of the auction closing.
I can accept credit/debit cards but will need to first send an invoice from our card processor and ask that the 3.25% fee charged by them be added.
Please remember you are bidding to buy, and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract!
You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later -- You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends.
If you decide to have the Mercedes shipped home, there are numerous vehicle transport companies to choose from.  While delivery and the company chosen are the responsibility of the
    BUYER
, I ship vehicles regularly and have access to the nationwide
    Central Dispatch
    System
.  I can check to see what typical delivery costs have been to your area recently and we can then post a transport offer for the car at a fair price.  Usually, a shipper is lined up within just a few days.  You’ll pay the transporter COD when they arrive with the car.  No upfront deposit or other hassles.
The Benz can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received.
After that period storage is per day.
Final Note: I list and sell my vehicles exclusively here on Ebay.
If you see them advertised "For Sale" on other sites
    BEWARE:
you are being scammed. We've recently come across more than a dozen of our past auction vehicles (with my Ebay pics and descriptions lifted verbatim) on the scam site
    "Classic Cars for Sale"
    also known as
    "TOPCLASSICSALE.COM".
