ANTIQUE FIRESCREENS PAIR REVERSE PAINTING GLASS FRENCH FLORAL GILDED 18TH

Description

For sale is a beautiful pair of Antique Fireplace Screens. Each one is Verre Eglomise, or Reverse Painting on Glass. They can be adjusted, up or down as needed. These types of firescreens were created to shield ladies from the heat so that their makeup didn't run. The style is French, Louis V. I'm guessing they are 19th century but it's possible they're older.
One screen is missing the bottom piece, the ornament but I have most of it. Otherwise they appear to be in good antique condition. They've been in my possession for 40 years. Local Pickup only.
