Exceptional 19th century antique marquetry Dutch coal hod-----15595

Description

This is a very fine 19th century Dutch coal hod or scuttle.  As fine of example as I have ever seen in my 40 years selling antiques.  Beautiful hand executed marquetry (inlay) on all four sides and top of the piece.  Mahogany or rosewood base with fruit woods used in the decorative pieces.  Flowers, leafs, etc used in an overall organic motif.  Two separate drawers in the lower front.  A heart shape cutout on either side.  Excellent condition and finish with just a few minor professional repairs.   Overall size is approximately 20 inches high and 12 1/2 square.  A beautiful example.   Email any day (see email address above---I normally check
